Jambor, Mara

In February of 2014 I joined Beth Bradley’s acrylic painting art class and that was when my painting career began! I was astonished that this art form came so naturally to me and within a few months I had sold my first paintings.

Jambor, Mara "Railroad Park"My painting of “Railroad Park at Dusk” was accepted into the 2015 Energen Art Competition and is now part of the Energen Art Collection in Birmingham, Alabama. I have work accepted into the juried Four Seasons show scheduled in July of 2015. I have exhibited at the Birmingham Art Association’s Fall Art Show, the Andrea Lucas Studio, the Mountain Brook Art Associations Holiday Art Show as well as their spring show and had a solo show at the Leeds Arts Center in February of 2015. I have taken lessons from Rollina Oglesby, Carol Carmichael, Melanie Morris, Barbara Evans and attend ongoing classes with David Nichols.

I love color and composition, leaning toward free brush strokes and impressionism. I want my paintings to appeal not just to one’s eye, but also to one’s heart. I hope that what I have painted speaks to you and hopefully touches your soul. Or, at least gives you a reason to pause and smile! But most importantly, I hope that you take Goethe’s quote to heart, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it!”
