Bio
My father was a trained artist and a huge influence in my love for art. I think I was the only child in 1st grade to draw houses in three quarter perspective because he insisted on teaching me how when I was 5. I took art through high school but pursued mathematics degrees in college. I started painting when I inherited his art supplies when I was 30. I have been fortunate to find many excellent teachers to help me along the way, including Terry Strickland, Amy Peterson, and Dori DeCammelis. Since I retired in 2014 from a career in software development I have been free to paint full time. I paint primarily in oil, trying to capture the small things in life that give me joy. Many of my still life paintings feature flowers or vegetables that I grow in my garden. I enjoy portraits and figure painting as well.
