Our January meeting featured a demo by new member Rik Lazenby

Rik Lazenby Rik Lazenby shared his secret recipes for dimensional paintings during our January meeting. Members took lots of notes during the demo. Rik is constantly experimenting and learning.  In this photo he has begun to paint on the plaster-covered jagged edged burlap that has been pasted on to board.

For a tree trunk, plaster mix is added with a  pastry cone usually used for cake-icing. He also will add roping of plumbers epoxy for the tree roots. When dry he will add paint or gold leaf. Amazing work.
We were pleased that Rik became a member after the demo. Welcome Rik!
