Kellie Newsome to give painting demonstration in January

“I am so excited to announce Kellie Newsome as our speaker/demonstrator for the January meeting. Kellie is an American Painter and multimedia artist who has assimilated many different styles into her art.

She attended Troy University where she pursued painting, printmaking, photography, sculpting and ceramics. Kellie interned under two very different artists – Pam Allen and Yeon Kim. During this time she learned how to create raw encaustic, mix pigments and combine a multitude of mediums and materials.

While in college Kellie was discovered by and continues to represent the Australian paint line Atelier. She has created paintings for Atelier Interactive paint pamphlets and literature which has developed into teaching workshops and writing journals on product comparisons. She teaches summer camps for children and encaustic and multimedia workshops. Teaching continues to be her strong passion and fuels her creativity. Kellie resides in Prattville, Alabama. I know you are going to enjoy what Kellie has to teach us as she encourages us to think outside of the box!”
