Thanks to all who attended our evening meeting November 13th. We had a great demonstration during which artist Terry Strickland shared her ideas on marketing, finding artist representation, and creating your own art magazine or book. She followed with a still life demo. Her paintings were passed around ~ portraits that were thoroughly examined and admired. An amazing cowboy portrait can be seen in the background on the right.
Terry commented that the most common mistake in painting is getting the darks too light and the lights too dark, leaving not enough contrast. Note that Terry teaches a nude drawing/painting session at Forstalls. Models that is! Artists may leave their clothes on. 😉
